IR blocker filter is used extensively to improve the efficiency of high power UV curing machines to protect the lamp and Dichroic UV reflector during the curing process. It also plays a major role in operation theatre lighting as heat absorbing filter by giving high transmission in the visible region with nominal impact on color. HHV’s IR blocking filter can be used used at high operating temperatures and has a strong resistance against humidity.
Hard transparent coatings on a glassdisc by radio frequency magnetron reactive sputtering technique are being used for tribological applications such as Elastohydrodynamic lubrication for the measurement of thickness of ultra-thin films and friction coefficient of lubricants. The coatings can measure lubricant film thickness down to 1nm with precision of +-1nm. Traction coefficient can be measured at any slide / roll ratio from pure rolling up to 100%.

Polka dot beam splitteris a vacuum deposited aluminum coating with protective dielectric layer on ultra violet grade fused silica/ borosilicate substrate. It is used to split the beam energy as per the customized transmission and reflection ratio (40/60). It is insensitive to the angle of incidence (0-45 deg) and has a spectral range of 400-1100 nm.
Optical filters for fluorescent imaging are produced with multiple dielectric layers deposited on a high precision glass substrate which are ground and polished to ensure the highest possible image quality to suit applications in biotechnology , night vision equipment and analytical equipment .
Anti - reflection coating on infrared optics for thermal imagingis being done with ion - assisted electron beam gun facility. The 8-12 micron thick coating on Germanium comprises five layers with a hard protective oxide layer on top and has a transmissivity greater than 93 %.
Thin film dichroic coatings are employed in light sources in electro-optics, operation theatre lighting , UV curing, fibre optics etc. to separate harmful excess heat from the desired light .
